Right now the damage mechanic is: Each character has a 'Kind' endeme based on their race and a number of hit points. For each die of damage, roll a d24 letter die and mark off one hit point against the rolled characteristic in the kind endeme. If the number of hit points in a characteristic drops to -1 that characteristic for the character becomes incapacitated. At -2 the character dies if the characteristic is one in which death would make sense.'
Results of damage are associated with the species kind endeme set
A - Aquatic - body hit - creature can no longer swim or dive
B - Beauty - face hit - damage makes the creature ugly.
C - Commonness - morale hit - creature feels alone and isolated.
D - Damage - damage will limit the creature's ability to do damage.
E - Evilness - morale hit - damage will break the creature's morale (if evil).
F - Feyness - morale hit - creature stops trying to do anything unusual.
G - Goodness - morale hit - damage will tempt the creature to do something expedient.
H - Humor - morale hit - damage turns the creature fierce, angry and humorless, the creature now means business.
I - Intelligence - head hit - the creature is stunned.
J - Jesus - morale hit - damage put the fear of God into the creature.
K - Killer - morale hit - damage causes the creature to stop trying to kill you and to try to escape.
L - Lifespan - organ hit - damage will shorten a creature's lifespan.
M - Movement - 'wing' hit - damage limits a creature's movement options, can no longer fly or jump.
N - No effect - the wound looks serious but he creature is fortunate in that it misses all vital spots.
O - Organization - morale hit - creature forgets about teamwork and starts fighting as if alone.
P - Playability - morale hit - creature goes berserk and starts attacking without strategy.
Q - Quickness - leg hit - damage cuts movement speed.
R - Resistance - head hit - damage will makes creature vulnerable to magic and mental effects.
S - Size - body hit - creature loses a big chunk of flesh - shark bite type wound.
T - Toughness - natural armor hit - puts a bit crack in the creatures natural armor, reducing hit points.
U - Utility - hand hit - damage cuts the creature's ability to hold and use weapons and physical objects.
V - Vision - eye hit - damage blinds the creature temporarily or permanently.
